Here, in the meadows between Vicoforte and San Michele Mondovì, in July 1585, the Mondovì community – of which Vico was a member – accompanied by a crowd of a thousand Piedmontese men on horseback, welcomes Duke Carlo Emanuele I, who was returning from Spain with his new wife Caterina d’Austria, Filippo II’s daughter, the greatest king of all time.

This historical event have no relations with roman memorial stone that was find 200 years ago and reinstalled here in seventies.
