loop of Briaglia
It is an itinerary completely surrounded by nature, with few paved parts, like the provincial road that connects the loop trail. The path is 8.4 Km long, with a difference in altitude of 450 metres and it takes about two hours complete it without stops. Leaving the car in piazza Serra in Briaglia, take the street among the ridge till the detour for the lakes of Briaglia, after the little bridge over the lake the road starts to go up toward the hamlet of Boschi and San Teobaldo where there are a shady picnic area and a fountain. The itinerary continues on an asphalt road passing in front of the big bench of Niella Tanaro, till the detour that will arrive to the valley floor at the hypogeum of Casnea. From here it is possible to cover in 5 km the rest of the loop and returning directly in piazza Serra, or continuing the path, turning left towards “Prà Riund” and reaching after a hill in the woods the hamlet of Vaschetti, where the provincial road lead to the Parish church and the panoramic viewpoint over the Alps with its big bench, to reach the starting point in piazza Serra.
