National monument, amongst the main religious architectural masterpieces in Piedmont, the Shrine was built at the end of the 16th century thanks to the will of the population and to the intervention of the Duke Carlo Emanuele I who wanted to use it as mausoleum for the House of Savoy. Its construction, due to the architects Vitozzi and Gallo, required more than three centuries.
